New regional renting brand PLATFORM_ announce Exeter’s first homes built for rent

Leading regional build to rent operator PLATFORM_ has unveiled its new housing scheme in Exeter, which will be the first in the city designed specifically for renters.

The homes are located in the heart of Exeter in the historic Southernhay neighbourhood, just around the corner from the picturesque Georgian Southernhay street and Exeter Cathedral. Residents will have easy access to the city’s commercial district and the Princesshay shopping quarter.

The scheme, which will provide 64 quality homes, has been designed with the aim of ‘reinventing renting’ and challenge the negative stigma often associated with renting. PLATFORM_ homes do this by providing tenants with high quality amenities and 24-hour management services, such as quick repairs and concierge and laundry services to make residents’ lives hassle-free.

The high quality amenities in PLATFORM_ homes include state-of-the-art security features, such as keyless access and video entry systems, as well as the latest high-tech innovations. Residents will benefit from a PLATFORM_ portal app, which gives them full control of their home’s utilities through their phones, and fittings such as smart meters and Nest thermostats, which learn tenants’ preferences and help them to save money on their energy bills.

In fitting with the scenic Southernhay area, PLATFORM_’s homes will also feature communal landscaped gardens, designed to encourage residents to get to know their neighbours and create a genuine sense of community.

These features all work as part of PLATFORM_’s vision to regenerate and reinvest in local communities by converting run down buildings into contemporary, design-focused homes that provide residents with a unique and contemporary renting experience.

PLATFORM_ is currently offering viewings for the homes, which start from £825 per month for a 1 bedroom flat and £1125 per month for a 2 bedroom flat.

Dominic Martin, operations and strategy director at Westrock, the developer behind PLATFORM_, said:

“We are proud to launch Exeter’s first homes designed specifically for rent. People renting outside of major cities often don’t have the option of homes that are professionally managed, and the buy-to-let sector doesn’t always offer consistent quality and standards.

“With a central location, excellent amenities and state of the art technology, we hope residents will agree that PLATFORM_’s new homes will set the bar for quality in Exeter.”

PLATFORM_ are currently taking bookings for viewings of their Exeter homes. Bookings can be made online at www.platform.life or by calling 01392 790525.
